Detroit-Windsor Truck Ferry
In addition to running a privately owned maritime transportation company, Mr. Ward is active in various international-logistics and security projects.
He has been closely involved in border issues and the maritime industry since 1988, when he and his father conceptualized and initiated the Detroit-Windsor Truck Ferry service, a border crossing for hazardous materials and over-dimensional loads moving between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.
In addition to operating the truck ferry, Mr. Ward has been involved in multiple transportation and business-development projects in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. He has served as project manager for several port-security grant projects dealing with security-software development — the most recent being a maritime-domain awareness project known as ShipMoves.org.
Mr. Ward graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a bachelor of arts in international studies. He received a master of business administration finance degree from Michigan State University and a Certificat en français, langue seconde from Université Laval.
